Inventories Drop to Lowest Level & Sales Rise to 4 Year High

Real Estate on the Emerald Coast  showed movement in the right direction last month. January 2011 saw same-month sales rise to a 4 year high, while inventories shrank to it lowest point in a long. long time. There is currently an 18.92 month supply of single family homes …a great decrease from a few years ago when that number reached almost 30 months.

Sales figures for Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties show all three areas posted large increases in the real estate market.  Consumer confidence is coming back enough that people are buying up the inventory.  Condominium and townhome sales for each of the three counties also showed double-digit increases, with sales in Okaloosa County jumping 41.38 percent, Walton County up 21.67 percent and Santa Rosa County 66.67 percent.
