2011 Off to a Great Start with Increase in Homesales

According to statistics released by the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, 2011 is starting off strong along the Emerald Coast. Sales, when compared to last year, were up more than 30 percent; residential was up more than 30 percent; condos were up more than 25 percent; and attached/townhomes saw an increase of more than 50 percent.

 All major areas across Okaloosa and Walton counties saw an increase over last year. Fort Walton Beach was up nearly 10 percent. North Walton County was up nearly 15 percent. Niceville and Crestview saw an increase of nearly 30 percent. South Walton and Destin, with help from huge increases in condo sales, had increases of more than 30 percent.
